Wigner-Seitz cell

 
   
A specific choice of primitive unit cell for a Bravais lattice. It is constructed by selecting a lattice point and taking the volume closer to that lattice point than to any other lattice point. Named after Eugene Paul Wigner (1902- 95) and Frederick Seitz (b. 1911).
