| A series of hydrides of silicon with formulae analogous to the alkanes, Si{TAG(tag=>sub)}n{TAG}H{TAG(tag=>sub)}2n+2{TAG}. Fewer exist than for the alkanes, the largest being Si{TAG(tag=>sub)}8{TAG}H{TAG(tag=>sub)}18{TAG}, and they are all less stable, reacting rapidly with oxygen. |
