The force exerted by body B on body A in response to a force applied by body A on body B (as in the third of Newton\'s laws of motion). In particular, if an object exerts a force on a mechanical component (e.g. a beam or surface) that supports it, the component exerts an equal and opposite force, known as the reaction, on the object.
