hadron

  
   
A subatomic particle that experiences the strong interaction. A hadron is either a baryon or a meson. The standard model distinguishes them from leptons and gauge bosons in that hadrons are composed of quarks. Baryons have half-integral spin, whereas mesons have integral spin.
